How do I practice medicine?

I practice Functional Medicine, primarily through the lens of Chinese Medicine. As opposed to only treating symptoms, Functional Medicine consists of looking at the whole person: mentally, emotionally, and physically in conjunction with their organ systems. If an organ system is not functioning optimally, we want to shift that, resulting in feeling better and being well.
Chinese Medicine is an ancient system that examines the root of the problem through the organ systems of the body. It consists of using Acupuncture and Herbal remedies, when needed. I combine this with modern lifestyle changes and supplements aimed at helping one's own body function at its best in order to rid itself of disease or chronic ailments.
I practice a combination of five-element acupuncture and classical acupuncture. I have found this is the fastest way to heal: treating the root of the problem while alleviating the symptoms a the same time.
I also include Cranial Sacral Therapy in many of my treatments. It is an extremely gentle form of massage that works with re-aligning the cranial bones and the rhythm of cranial sacral fluid. This energetic work couples nicely with acupuncture. Both are subtle, yet deeply effective.
